Description
This one-day Workshop provides intensive training on privacy laws affecting private sector organisations. The course equips participants with a detailed understanding of:
·
privacy laws and how they apply to private sector entities; and
·
how to identify and manage privacy compliance issues.

Participants will receive a Participant Handbook containing course materials (which  is also suitable for subsequent use as a privacy reference handbook) and, upon request, a Certificate of Completion.

The course also provides an overview of changes to privacy laws currently being considered by the Government following the Australian Law Reform Commission’s recent review of privacy laws.

Format The course is delivered in an interactive workshop format using a PowerPoint slideshow. Throughout modules, participants identify, apply and discuss relevant privacy principles in practical scenarios.

Who is this course for? Senior staff responsible for managing and advising on privacy issues, eg. privacy officers, lawyers, risk managers, internal auditors.

Which industries is the course relevant to? The course content is generic and relevant to all industries, drawing on case studies and scenarios from a range of sectors.

Health service providers: The handbook includes supplementary materials, covered in the workshop, focusing on privacy laws relating specifically to the health sector.
